About the Position
The Lead Dog Groomer is a key leadership role at Scenthound, responsible for providing exceptional grooming services while mentoring and guiding the grooming team. This position ensures the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency, and acts as a subject-matter expert and a leader on the floor.
Position Requirements
  • At least three years of professional grooming experience or proven success in a high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience is strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of dog breeds, care standards, and tools of the trade
  • Strength to lift up to 70 pounds; stamina to stand for long periods of time
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Grooming Team: Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to fellow groomers to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
  • Groom to Scenthound Standards: Perform grooms, specifically puppy cuts, with a focus on one length all-over with a neat face.
  • Oversee Quality Control: Ensure all grooming services meet Scenthound's high standards.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Foster an environment conducive to learning, open communication, and teamwork.
  • Support Daily Operations: Identify where help is needed and provide hands-on assistance to keep the Scenter on schedule.
  • Ensure Safety: Maintain the safety of all dogs and team members at all times.
  • Uphold Standards: Adhere to all Scenthound sanitary and cleaning practices.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Scenter Manager.
