Job description

Position Overview: The role of a Dog Attendant is integral to providing a safe, clean, and enriching environment for our furry guests. As a Dog Attendant, you will play a vital part in ensuring the well-being and happiness of the dogs in our care. Your responsibilities will include supervising playtime, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with the overall operations of our facility, contributing to a positive experience for both the dogs and their owners.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

Supervision

  • Upholding our mission, vision, and core values

  • Responsible for ensuring opening and closing checklists are completed

  • Keeping a positive and motivated attitude through your shift

  • Regularly communicating with Manager or Shift Lead on issues that arise

Dog Care and Interaction:

  • Communicating Health Concerns with Pet Retreat Manager or Shift Lead.

  • Assisting in the completion of baths, nail trims and all other add-on services

  • Be aware of dog behavior and body language, intervening if any dogs display signs of distress or aggression.

  • Oversee dogs during playtime, ensuring positive interactions and appropriate play behavior.

  • Engage with dogs in a friendly and playful manner, providing mental and physical stimulation.

  • Creating Report Cards that give a detailed outline of each pet's day

  • Assist with feeding dogs according to their dietary requirements.

  • Be present in the park and monitor all play and interactions between guests and boarding/daycare dog

  • Assist with dog assessments

  • Walk dogs outside for bathroom breaks
