Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Emergency Response: Act as the first responder to emergencies, enforce federal and state laws, and conduct mobile patrols, inspections, and searches.
  • Protect NASA Property: Guard NASA buildings and property, control access, and protect equipment and materials.
  • Traffic Control: Conduct traffic enforcement and investigations, and manage access control.
  • Professional Interaction: Escort and interact with public and government personnel, and communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and in person.
  • Flexible Hours: Be available for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and remain on call for emergency duty.
  • Other Duties: As assigned.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Preferred 1-3 years of military or law enforcement experience as a full-time employee of a civilian law enforcement agency, military police, or government or civilian security guard organization.
  • Certifications: NBTS required prior to standing an armed post. ICS-100 and ICS-200 required within 120 days of appointment. ERO Certification required.
  • Skills: Strong communication and report writing skills. Proficient with computers and standard word processing programs.
  • Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid state driver’s license, and have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture. Must successfully complete all training and obtain all required licenses, certifications, and security/medical clearances for the site. Must meet and maintain NASA Physical Certifications and complete psychological examinations. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
  • Other: There will also be a Physical Agility Test (PAT) as a part of the onboarding process.
