Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be a currently serving U.S. military service member eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation.
Work Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, standard business hours

Overview:
Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a transitioning service member with prior recruiting, staffing, sourcing, personnel selection, career counseling, or closely related talent acquisition experience to participate in a DoD SkillBridge internship supporting our corporate recruiting team.
  • This internship is designed for service members who are specifically interested in transitioning into civilian Talent Acquisition or technical recruiting within the defense and aerospace industry.
  • The selected intern will gain practical exposure to federal contractor recruiting, cleared recruiting, applicant tracking systems, candidate screening, hiring manager coordination, resume review, sourcing strategy, and recruiting compliance considerations.
  • This is not an HR generalist internship and is not intended for applicants seeking experience primarily in benefits, compensation, payroll, employee relations, HR policy, or general personnel administration.
  • This is also not a full retraining opportunity. Candidates must demonstrate prior exposure to recruiting, staffing, sourcing, candidate evaluation, career counseling, or personnel selection.
Description of Duties:
The selected intern will work alongside Aegis Aerospace recruiting professionals and will be integrated into daily recruiting operations.
The intern will:
  • Support full-cycle recruiting activities including resume review, candidate screening, interview coordination, and applicant communications
  • Assist with candidate sourcing efforts through job boards, applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, military transition networks, and other recruiting channels
  • Review resumes against minimum qualifications, clearance requirements, education requirements, and role-specific experience requirements
  • Assist with initial candidate qualification and documentation of recruiting notes
  • Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers, candidates, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate candidate records within the applicant tracking system
  • Support candidate communication throughout the recruiting process
  • Assist with drafting candidate summaries and experience highlights for hiring manager review
  • Gain exposure to cleared recruiting, federal contractor hiring requirements, and DoD contract recruiting expectations
  • Participate in recruiting strategy discussions for technical, aerospace, engineering, cybersecurity, and defense-related positions
  • Learn how to evaluate candidate alignment with contract requirements, labor categories, clearance expectations, and hiring manager needs
  • Communicate professionally with candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a current U.S. military service member eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active DoD Security Clearance
  • Must have prior hands-on recruiting experience in a professional, military, agency, corporate, staffing, or talent acquisition environment
  • Must have experience reviewing resumes or candidate profiles against specific job requirements
  • Must have experience conducting candidate outreach, candidate screening, or applicant qualification
  • Must understand the basic recruiting workflow from sourcing through interview coordination
  • Must be comfortable using job descriptions, minimum qualifications, and hiring criteria to determine whether a candidate should move forward
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have high attention to detail and the ability to document candidate activity accurately
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders
  • Must be interested in transitioning into civilian Talent Acquisition, technical recruiting, cleared recruiting, or defense industry recruiting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a military recruiter, corporate recruiter, agency recruiter, staffing specialist, sourcer, or talent acquisition coordinator
  • Experience sourcing candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, ClearanceJobs, Indeed, ATS systems, military transition networks, or similar recruiting platforms
  • Experience screening candidates for technical, professional, cleared, government contractor, aerospace, defense, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, logistics, or operations roles
  • Experience supporting interview coordination, candidate follow-up, recruiting documentation, or hiring manager communication
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems or recruiting databases
  • Interest in cleared recruiting, federal contractor recruiting, technical recruiting, or aerospace and defense recruiting
