About Allegiant Utility Services

For more than three decades, Allegiant Utility Services has delivered meter projects for public electric, gas, and water utilities. We organize each engagement around the client's standards, schedule, and reporting requirements-from project mobilization through closeout.

Position Overview

Allegiant Utility Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the mobilization, execution, performance, and closeout of public utility meter projects.

This position is responsible for project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, safety, quality, client communication, and performance reporting. The Project Manager will lead field teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are completed in accordance with contractual requirements and utility standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project start-up and mobilization, including implementation planning, staffing, training, logistics, work procedures, and readiness activities.

  • Direct daily project operations and serve as the primary operational contact for utility clients.

  • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, budgets, forecasts, resources, and deliverables.

  • Track and report daily, weekly, monthly, and project-to-date production, safety, quality, schedule, and financial results.

  • Monitor project costs, productivity, and resource utilization and implement corrective actions when needed.

  • Lead field supervisors, coordinators, administrative support staff, and field technicians.

  • Manage employee selection, onboarding, training, development, performance, and retention.

  • Establish and continuously improve project workflows, controls, documentation, and escalation processes.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure work quality and data integrity meet contract specifications and utility standards.

  • Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requirements and communicate necessary escalations.

  • Coordinate project closeout, including final reconciliation, documentation, deliverable acceptance, and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, engineering, operations, or a related field-or an equivalent combination of education, military service, and relevant experience.

  • At least three years of project management experience involving schedules, budgets, staffing, client communication, and operational performance.

  • Experience leading field-based teams or multi-site operations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and project scheduling or performance-tracking software.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent credential.

  • Experience managing meter installation, meter exchange, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), or other public utility field-service projects.

  • Experience working with electric, gas, or water utilities.

  • Experience interpreting client contracts, project specifications, and service-level requirements.

  • Knowledge of safety programs, quality controls, production reporting, and field workforce management.

Work Environment and Travel

This is a remote and field-based position requiring regular travel to project and client locations. Overnight travel is generally limited but may be required based on project geography, mobilization needs, and client requirements.
