Full Time, Huntsville, AL (Onsite) SECRET Referral Bonus: $1,000 Job Description: Semper Valens Solutions is looking for a Configuration Manager/Documentation Specialist to join our systems engineering team responsible for configuration control, documentation management, and product lifecycle tracking for software and system development activities. This role will help establish and maintain configuration management processes, ensure documentation accuracy, support auditing and version control, and coordinate with engineering teams as the project grows. The Configuration Manger/Documentation Specialist will follow processes and work with other engineering teams to deliver exceptional products to the Army customer. The successful candidate will draw upon previous experience and will work with the entire systems engineering team to provide consistent high-quality support and timely response to system and obsolescence issues. The Ideal candidate must be able to work within a high performing team with little oversight throughout the systems engineering and product lifecycle. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual, comfortable working in a small but expanding environment. Position Responsibilities: โ€ข Maintain configuration items (CIs) for software, documentation, and system baselines. โ€ข Manage version control repositories and ensure proper branching, tagging, and release processes. โ€ข Maintain and enforce configuration management (CM) policies, procedures, and naming conventions. โ€ข Support creation, review, and organization of technical documentation including building guides, design documents, test documentation, and release notes. โ€ข Track changes through established change management processes; maintain change records and approval histories. โ€ข Coordinate configuration audits, baseline reviews, and documentation quality checks. โ€ข Ensure all vendor-provided materials (source code, SBOMs, build instructions, etc.) are properly cataloged and accessible. โ€ข Maintain documentation libraries and ensure document currency and compliance with project standards. โ€ข Assist teams with preparing documentation for security assessments, integration activities, and release cycles. โ€ข Provide ongoing process improvement recommendations as CM needs grow. Position Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience in configuration management, documentation management, or related support roles. (additional years of relevant experience may be applied in lieu of degree) * Must have an active DoD SECRET clearance to start. * Willingness and ability to travel up to 15+% CONUS/OCONUS based on mission needs. * Hands-on experience with version control tools (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar). * Familiarity with configuration management principles, baselines, and change control processes. * Ability to create, edit, and manage technical documents with clarity and consistency. * Experience with documentation repositories or CMS tools (SharePoint, Confluence, Wikis, etc.). * Understanding software development lifecycle concepts. *   * Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail. * Effective communications skills are required Desired Skills and Experience: * Experience supporting cybersecurity or compliance documentation. * Familiarity with SBOMs, open-source component tracking, or software supply chain management. * Knowledge of configuration audit practices or quality management systems. * Knowledge of the organization's products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end user's level of understanding are highly desired About Semper Valens Solutions: Semper Valens Solutions, Inc.
