Job description

Overview
The responsibilities of this position include supporting international banking operations related to letters of credit and facilitating accurate and timely transaction processing. This role ensures compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements while providing quality service to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare all documents and entries related to issuing and amending Standby and Documentary/Import Letters of Credit.
  • Calculate and process all fees related to the issuance, renewal, and amending of letters of credit.
  • Provide technical support and direction to lenders and lending support associates in preparing documents for drafting, issuing, renewing and amending Letters of Credit.
  • Examine documents presented for payment under all types of Letters of Credit and determine compliance with letter of credit conditions.
  • Update all subsidiary and electronic logs and journals for letters of credit and related fees.
  • Maintain office files and pending folders for letters of credit.
  • Create or approve General Ledger Accounting journals in the bank's accounting system (BRIDGE) for letters of credit transactions.
  • Follow OFAC policy and procedure when issuing, amending and renewing letters of credit.
  • Process transactions and fees related to letters of credit participations with other financial institutions.
  • Associates are expected to perform all additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years Financial banking experience.
  • Knowledge of general banking functions
  • Keyboard/computer skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ten Key Test
  • Excel 2016 - Beginner
  • Word 2016 - Beginner
  • Two years of college preferred
  • Experience with core systems and automated processes preferred
  • Typing skills - 40 words per minute preferred
  • Knowledge of credit transactions and procedures related to types of letters of credit preferred
