Document Scanner

At Journey Bank we strive to assist all members of our community on their financial journey. Journey Bank is a strong, independent community bank with 22 locations and 290 employees. We are seeking a full-time Document Scanner to work in our Loan Servicing Department as a Loan Servicing Associate 1. This position is on-site at our Operations Center in Bloomsburg, PA.

The primary responsibility of this position is to review and scan documents. In addition, you may perform a variety of other duties to support the loan servicing function as needed, including but not limited to: answering and directing incoming phone calls, reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor, and responding to inquiries or requests for information.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Scan and index loan documents and maintain the quality standards and timely completion of imaging process.
  2. Review new loan documentation for completeness of signatures; correct documents, disclosures and collateral filings. Process includes any necessary follow up of discrepancies.
  3. Record, renew or satisfy collateral filings which may include mortgages, vehicle titles and UCC's for new loans, current loans or paid off loans.
  4. Research and follow up on internal and external customer inquiries and issues.
  5. Process extension, renewal and modifications specific to the Commercial Loan area.
  6. Remit and process payments received and department billings as required.
  7. Perform daily correction of unposted transactions and review of system generated notices for mailing.
  8. Answer and direct incoming phone calls from internal and external customers.
  9. Assist other Loan Servicing Associates and Loan Servicing Manager as assigned or directed in order to accomplish department goals and responsibilities.

Requirements: The selected candidate must have the following skills:

  • A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience in related banking position preferred.
  • Proficient reading, writing and grammar skills; proficient math and PC skills; Moderate interpersonal and communication skills; Must have ability to learn loan documentation and servicing requirements and bank operating policies and procedures that impact the department; High-degree of accuracy is essential

Cooperates with, participates in, and promotes the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, soundness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This includes annual Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training and complying with all BSA rules and regulations as the pertain to the job position within the Bank.

Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week, flexible to work additional hours as needed.
