Department Overview

In Regulatory Affairs, we help the business achieve its business goals by working with regulators and other stakeholders. Today's business needs innovative regulatory programs, built on a solid foundation of regulatory knowledge. Regulatory filings before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) consist of required filings and those initiated by the Company. Required filings include those ordered by previous Commission decisions (e.g., general rate case proceedings, annual operating and energy cost filings), and those required as part of Commission investigations. Among the filings initiated by the Company are proposals for recovery of costs not covered by general rate cases, for new customer programs, for modifications to existing regulations, and for changes to existing tariffs. In any year, there are a wide variety of filings and often new cases are introduced during the year due to actions initiated by the CPUC or FERC, or in response to changing business operations. The Regulatory Affairs organization is responsible for planning, coordinating, and preparing regulatory cases, and working with the CPUC and FERC to obtain the best possible outcome for the Company and our customers.

Position Summary

The document processor is responsible for producing and formatting regulatory documents, such as testimony and data responses, in support of regulatory filings. You must be able to work extended hours when necessary. Interview will include an assignment to follow specified instructions and edit a document.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland General Office twice per week and based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $66,000

Bay Area Maximum: $98,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce regulatory documents accurately in correct standardized formats while meeting clients' deadlines, format files in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat; troubleshoot problems that arise when working on files received from clients, and proofread work for correct style, format, spelling, and punctuation
  • Consult with clients to determine requirements of work assignment
  • Continuously work to improve process by assisting clients in formulating best manner to complete work assignments
  • Create print-ready Excel spreadsheets, including page layout, print areas, scaling, headers/footers, and page breaks
  • Ability to copy and paste graphs/charts into Word using Paste Special
  • Format reports
  • Edit, testimony, reports, and correspondence
  • Maintain and update desk reference guides and manuals
  • Proofread the work of other document processors when applicable

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • 2 years experience in word/document processing, or equivalent

Desired:

  • Expert level in Microsoft Word
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • 3 years experience in document processing, or equivalent
