Job description

We are looking for an experienced FORKLIFT OPERATOR/Receiving & Traffic Associate to join our Las Vegas, Nevada plant. This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed. We offer competitive benefits and salary, plus up to $1.00/hr increase after 90 days depending on your job performance.
This position will support both Receiving operations and Traffic Office functions, helping ensure that inbound materials are received accurately and efficiently while also assisting with the administrative and transportation activities required to support our daily shipping, Traffic, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other departments throughout the facility.
You will work in a team environment with an opportunity to develop your skills and advance your career with Custom Building Products.
You will be responsible for ensuring our customers' satisfaction by shipping and/or receiving products timely and accurately. You will also work closely with all departments in the facility, including Production, Maintenance, and more. Our Forklift Operators are not sitting on a lift throughout the shift - There is frequent movement which includes lifting. About the Role
Responsibilities:
Receiving & Warehouse Duties
  • Receive inbound raw materials, finished goods, supplies, and other deliveries accurately and timely.
  • Verify incoming shipments against Bills of Lading, packing slips, purchase orders, and other receiving documentation.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for correct quantities and visible damage or discrepancies.
  • Report shortages, damages, incorrect materials, or other receiving discrepancies to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  • Complete and maintain accurate receiving documentation and system transactions.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, Quality Control, and other departments regarding incoming materials as needed.
  • Operate a sit-down industrial forklift to unload, move, stage, retrieve, and put away materials.
  • Properly identify and store received materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy by ensuring received materials are properly identified, documented, and stored.
  • Follow all safety procedures during loading, unloading, material handling, and warehouse activities.
  • Maintain receiving and warehouse areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Be ready and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Traffic Office Duties
  • Assist with day-to-day Traffic Office and transportation activities.
  • Process and review freight invoices and supporting documentation for billing and payment.
  • Organize, file, scan, and maintain freight, shipping, receiving, and transportation paperwork.
  • Contact customers and stores to schedule and confirm delivery appointments.
  • Communicate with carriers, drivers, customers, and internal departments regarding pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Assist with preparing, reviewing, and maintaining Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proofs of Delivery (PODs), delivery paperwork, and other transportation documentation.
  • Assist with tracking shipments and communicating delivery updates, delays, or issues as needed.
  • Verify shipment information, customer requirements, quantities, and transportation documentation for accuracy.
  • Assist with freight billing, data entry, document processing, and other administrative duties associated with transportation operations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records for outbound and inbound shipments.
  • Assist drivers and carriers with paperwork, check-in/check-out procedures, and shipment-related questions.
  • Escalate carrier, delivery, appointment, freight, or documentation issues to the appropriate supervisor when necessary.
  • Provide general backup and support to the Traffic Department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational and business needs.

About You
We Require:
  • Great work ethic, reliability, and impeccable attendance.
  • Previous warehouse, receiving, shipping, logistics, or transportation experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in both warehouse and office environments.
  • Proficient operation of forklift and walkie rider. A driving test will be given during the interview process.
  • Ability to read and understand purchase orders, Bills of Lading, packing slips, work orders, and shipping/receiving documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company receiving, transportation, billing, and inventory systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with carriers, drivers, customers, stores, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing operational needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
