As Electric Boat continues to support construction of the VIRGINIA Class and COLUMBIA submarine programs, our Quality Organization plays a critical role in ensuring every component meets the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.

The PQA/NQC Quality Control Analyst is responsible for performing the following functions on contractor furnished material (CFM) and equipment including, but not limited to:

  • Review supplier provided certifications for adherence to purchase order requirements.
  • Review supplier approved procedures.
  • Review supplier test records.
  • Review supplier weld and NDT records.
  • Process material receipts though Oracle, MQS, MRPII, SPARS, and ApplCore systems.
  • Demonstrate competency in understanding Electric Boat procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate and work with Supervisors and Inspectors on proper handling of procedures, inspection plans and work flows.
  • Work with Supplier Quality and Engineering as needed.
  • Adjudicate material deficiencies through the ER/CR process and work to engineering dispositions.
  • Review and understand SSP’s, SP’s, MDD’s, SDD’s, Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Identify and implement ways to improve and streamline job functions and responsibilities.
  • Maintain department goals for participation and implementation of process improvements.

Required: 

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-4 years' relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of MS office and basic computer systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of War.

Preferred: 

  • Previous experience as a Quality Control Analyst performing vendor material inspection.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP.
  • Associate’s degree or higher.
  • Military service.
  • 2+ years as a Quality Control Analyst.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Must possess basic mathematical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team environment to meet organizational and department goals. 
    Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, diagrams, and VPAR’s.
  • Ability to navigate email and MS Office programs effectively. 
  • Positive, self-motivated attitude with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
