About the Role



The Foreclosure Attorney’s primary focus is obtaining judgments and handling court appearances across a high-volume residential and commercial foreclosure docket. This attorney presents summary judgment hearings, attends mediations, and moves files through the judgment and sale process with precision and efficiency. In addition to core judgment and hearing work, this attorney will be expected to handle lightly contested matters that arise on the docket — including motions to dismiss, motions for extension of time, and court-ordered mediations — so that files stay on track without requiring escalation. This is not a heavy litigation role; it is a focused, high-output position for an attorney who excels at preparation, courtroom presence, and docket management.



Responsibilities



  • Judgments & Summary Judgment Hearings
  • Prepare and present motions for summary judgment and proposed final judgments of foreclosure in compliance with Florida Rule of Civil Procedure 1.510 and applicable case law.
  • Review files for judgment readiness, including confirming service of process, publication compliance, and all required affidavits are in order prior to scheduling.
  • Handle summary judgment hearings across multiple circuits, both in-person and via remote appearance where permitted.
  • Coordinate foreclosure sale scheduling, confirm bid instructions with clients, and ensure all post-judgment requirements are satisfied.
  • Address post-judgment matters including objections to sale, motions to cancel or reschedule, and related file follow-up.
  • Court Appearances & Hearings
  • Appear at foreclosure hearings including case management conferences, status hearings, and scheduled motion hearings across Florida circuits.
  • Prepare thoroughly for each appearance with sufficient lead time, including review of the file, court requirements, and any pending opposing filings.
  • Coordinate with paralegals and staff on scheduling, notice, and all pre-hearing logistics.
  • Report hearing outcomes promptly to the file team and client as required.
  • Mediation
  • Attend foreclosure mediations, including those required under Florida’s Managed Mediation Program and court-ordered mediations.
  • Review client guidelines and loss mitigation status prior to each mediation and obtain authority parameters in advance.
  • Engage borrowers and opposing counsel professionally, with the goal of reaching resolutions consistent with client objectives.
  • Document mediation outcomes accurately and coordinate any required follow-up with the file team.
  • Lightly Contested Matters
  • This attorney will handle routine lightly contested matters that arise on the docket and must be resolved to keep files moving. This is a support function, not the primary role.
  • Respond to and argue motions to dismiss filed by borrowers or pro se defendants.
  • Handle motions for extension of time and other procedural matters requiring attorney response.
  • Address routine objections or court inquiries that do not require escalation to supervising attorneys.
  • Communicate with the file team on any contested issues requiring strategy input from senior attorneys.



Qualifications



  • Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Florida foreclosure law or creditor-side real estate litigation.
  • Demonstrated courtroom experience, including appearances at hearings in Florida circuit courts.
  • Working knowledge of Florida foreclosure procedure from complaint through final judgment and sale, including the summary judgment standard under Rule 1.510.
  • Familiarity with Florida’s Managed Mediation Program and foreclosure mediation practice.
  • Strong preparation habits and courtroom presence; ability to handle hearings independently and professionally.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a large active docket without missing deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and comfortable working across case management and court filing platforms.
  • Professional demeanor and strong written and verbal communication skills.



Preferred Skills



  • Experience at a high-volume creditor-side Florida foreclosure firm.
  • Familiarity with CaseAware, LPS (Black Knight / ICE), or similar foreclosure case management systems.
  • Experience handling business purpose loan (BPL) or commercial foreclosure matters.



Pay range and compensation package


Full-time hybrid position based in Boca Raton, Florida; travel required for court appearances. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Immediate opening.
