Docket Analyst

Cooley is seeking a Docket Analyst to join the Docket team.

Hybrid Schedule: As part of the Cooley culture, we recognize and appreciate the value of being together, in person, to build comradery with others in the office and to be a contributing member of the Cooley office. However, we also appreciate the benefits and flexibility that come from remote working. As such, the default assumption for employees and partners is a hybrid schedule: some in-office presence and some work from home days absent certain essential in-office roles that require five (5) days/week in-office.

Position summary: Under the supervision of the Senior Firmwide Docket Manager, the Docket Analyst will provide firm-wide calendar support and court services. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Daily docketing of firm-wide matters in firm calendar

  • Research all local, state, federal and administrative rules, as requested

  • Generate docket reports and respond to queries as requested by attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants

  • Provide back-up support to all Docket team members

  • Deliver or retrieve court documents from local courts and/or administrative offices

  • Maintain and update various department resources

  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills & experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications

  • Available to work overtime, as required

  • 3+ years of previous intake or litigation calendar experience

  • Knowledge of calendaring software

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience working in a law firm

  • Proficient in Compulaw or other rules based docketing system

  • Proficient with online court systems (PACER, NYSCEF)

Competencies:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Good judgment with strong analytical and interpretation skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

  • Ability to work within a team and collaborate

The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $33.00 - $47.00 ($68,640.00 - $97,760.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
