Description
A mid-size Chicago law firm seeking full-time Docket Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter with a high level of attention to detail and must possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must also be able to work well in a team environment while being able to independently follow through on a task from start to finish with minimal direction. Job Description:
This position will involve assisting the docket department and the firms' docket needs for our busy attorneys. This involves saving and processing court documents, scanning and copying case-related documents, and assigning trial dates. In addition, the docket clerk must be able to handle other overflow assignments as needed.
Essential Functions:
  1. Track, save and process court filings on court electronic docket websites.
  2. Administer Firm's docket database. This includes entering case related information into data fields within the case management software, sending to-dos and emails to attorneys, calendaring hearings, depositions, trial dates, etc.
  3. Help to schedule upcoming hearings and coordinate coverage.
  4. Assist the docket specialists with tasks related to opening and closing of cases and new client transfers.
  5. Making occasional trips to nearby court.

  1. Associates degree or equivalent law firm experience
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  3. Must be familiar with court dockets, court procedures, and electronic filing websites.
  4. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Must be detail-oriented and possess a high level or organizational and time management skills.
  6. Must be able to meet tight deadlines with accuracy.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Previous law firm experience.

Compensation and Benefits Overview: $52,500-$60,000 (DOE)
The pay offered for this role may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligible employees may also receive bonus opportunities and other forms of compensation, contributing to a comprehensive total rewards package. Benefits offerings may differ based on location.
