About the Role:
CareFree Boat Club in Virginia Beach, VA is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Dock Master to lead -day to- day dock operations and help deliver an exceptional boating experience for our members.
As a Dock Master, you'll oversee a fleet of 30+ vessels, 18 to 30 feet, manage and develope a team of dockstaff, and ensure members recieve the outstanding service that CareFree Boat Club is known for.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily dock operations, ensuring safe and efficient vessel traffic and slip management
  • Assist club members with boat check-ins, check-outs, and proper vessel handling
  • Conduct pre- and post-use boat inspections, documenting any damage or maintenance needs
  • Coordinate routine maintenance, cleaning, and fueling of club vessels
  • Enforce marina safety protocols and ensure compliance with boating regulations
  • Provide member orientation and on-water assistance as needed
  • Communicate with marina staff and management to ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in marina operations, dock management, or the marine industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of boat handling, docking procedures, and watercraft safety
  • Virginia Boating Safety Education Certificate or equivalent certification a plus
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks
