Job description

Position Title: Dock Attendant (Part-Time)

Department: Security Department

Reports To: Security Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

Legends GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Dock Attendant at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The Dock Attendant will report to the Security Manager and is responsible for the control and security of the dock to ensure safety and security of lot premises during shows and events. They must enforce dock policies and safety procedures at all times.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Secure and control dock lots to prevent over-congestion and illegal parking.
  • Instruct and direct promoters, decorators and patrons.
  • Provide daily reports to the Security Dock Supervisor or Security Manager.
  • Ensure safety and security of the lot, address any related concerns.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the dock attendant booth and office.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills are a must.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to handle conflict in a calm, tactful and professional manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple customers and duties simultaneously.

Working Conditions

  • Flexible to work as scheduled, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license or identification required.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues, stakeholders and facility partners
  • Must possess professional demeanor and mature attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
