Cross Dock Manager
Electrical Wholesale Industry - Hobart Area - Early AM Start

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The primary responsibility of the cross-dock manager is to manage inbound and outbound goods where they will be loaded directly onto outbound Steiner delivery vehicles, minimizing warehouse storage costs and making sure all trucks/routes loaded complete and making short-route deliveries.
Essential Functions:
  • Dock planning and scheduling
  • Sort through customer orders to make sure all orders are complete
  • Complete picking and loading pipe onto delivery trucks
  • Verify Routes are routed correctly in Innovo Route
  • Create Manifests for drivers
  • Inspect goods for accuracy and quality when unloading/loading
  • Match shipments to their associated routes
  • Use RF handheld and Steiner business system where needed
  • Safely store goods in proper warehouse locations when needed
  • Report damages or shortages to the appropriate branch immediately
  • Ensure safety rules, company policies and regulations are followed
  • Oversee the number of stops, weight and condition of loads and Steiner delivery routes
  • Protect to ensure all loads are secured so no damage occurs during transit
  • Effectively communicate with management
  • Ensure all manifests are closed daily
  • Monitor delivery progress via Innovo Deliver
  • Assist in monitoring truck maintenance schedules and daily damage inspections
  • Assist in managing a team of drivers at the facility
  • Responsible for all inbound and outbound freight at the facility
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager

WHAT WE'LL NEED FROM YOU:
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to effectively communicate professionally with Steiner, customer, and vendor personnel at all levels of the company.
  • The ability to work under time constraints
  • The ability to work well with others and contribute to a positive team environment
  • 2+ years warehouse experience

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions of this Position:
  • The ability to become forklift certified.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds including large bulky items.
  • Stand on concrete surface for extended length of time.
  • Bending and twisting motions required.
  • Pushing and pulling fully loaded manual pallet jacks and carts.
