Purpose of Job
Provide entertainment as our mascot, Thomas, at specific campus and community events. Meet and greet students, staff, faculty and community members, and take pictures with students, faculty, staff and community members to enhance all-around Doane University mascot experience. Provide silent entertainment projecting an enthusiastic and entertaining demeanor.
General Description and Duties
  • Have an enthusiastic and high energy at all times to keep the entertainment level high
  • Flexibility of work depends on event and agreed schedule
  • Assist in the development, creation and execution of performances to enhance the Doane mascot experience for tiger fans
  • Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character including: body language/mannerisms, attitude, and fan interaction
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Commit entirely to the assigned scheduled opportunities for "Thomas" to appear at on-campus and off-campus events
  • Distribute Doane University promotional items designed to help increase school spirit and attendance at events
  • Personally interact with students/staff/faculty/community members you encounter
