Academic Pediatric Gastroenterologist, Winston-Salem, NC

Wake Forest University School of Medicine?is seeking an Academic Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our growing team at Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem,?NC. Our team is comprised of 8 faculty Pediatric Gastroenterologists, 6 Advanced Practice Providers, 2 Pediatric Psychologists, 1 Registered Dietitian, 1 Social Worker, 5 Pediatric GI Nurses, 5 Endo Nurses, and 1 Endo Tech.

Position Highlights:

  • Work/Life Balance:?1:8 call a week at a time (Friday-Friday). 
  • Schedule Mix:?3 clinic (1 virtual), 1 procedure (OR & sedation suite), and 1 admin day.

  • Collaborative Environment: The Pediatric Gastroenterology Section is a dynamic team leading the region in preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric digestive and liver disorders.
  • Specialized Programs: IBD, Celiac disease, and Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Aerodigestive, CF, along with a Functional GI clinic staffed by licensed Psychologists. Also run a short gut and parental nutrition program through multidisciplinary clinic and surgical team.
  • Several Locations: Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Kernersville and Greensboro and North Carolina, we are committed to comprehensive pediatric gastrointestinal care.
  • Excellent Technology: Clinicians utilize EPIC EMR and have access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Graduation from an accredited M.D. or D.O. medical school 
  • BC/BE in Pediatrics 
  • Completion of Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship
