Job description

About the role

As a Product Manager on our DNA team, you will be responsible for delivering new innovative features to DNA users that combine genomic and genealogical data to unlock deeply personalized insights, piquing usersโ€™ family history interest and converting them to paying subscribers. In this role, you will shape the product strategy and roadmap for features and servicesโ€”including customer-facing conversational and agentic AI solutionsโ€”built on our firstโ€‘inโ€‘class DNA science, the worldโ€™s largest genomic database, and billions of historical records. You will lead the charge in creating powerful, engaging discovery experiences that help users unlock their family history by bridging the gap between genetic data and ancestral stories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive user conversion and retention by building features that deliver new insights to DNAโ€‘first users, leading them to convert to free trialers and subscribers.
  • Deeply understand how backโ€‘end data systems can solve user needs, balancing tradeโ€‘offs between feasibility, accuracy, and cost.
  • Lead continuous product discovery by leveraging AIโ€‘native workflows to rapidly build live data prototypes, validate assumptions, and test hypotheses before building for production.
  • Lead UI/UX design initiatives in collaboration with your product designer to create elegant, intuitive experiences.
  • Partner with DNA science, engineering, and architecture teams to build robust DNA platform servicesโ€”the APIs, logic, and frontโ€‘end components that power our ecosystem.
  • Work closely with UX research, marketing, customer support, and legal teams to deliver value to customers swiftly and consistently.
  • Learn rapidly from both quantitative and qualitative feedback, and adapt strategies with agility based on these insights.
Qualifications
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience delivering successful consumer products at global scale.
  • Proven track record of shipping dataโ€‘dense or AIโ€‘powered consumer features.
  • Direct experience with GenAI, LLMs, or conversational agent frameworks is highly preferred.
  • A modern PM who integrates AI into their own daily workflowโ€”comfortable using AI tools to research, query data, or build functional data prototypes during the discovery phase.
  • Systems thinker: Ability to handle immense backโ€‘end complexity, navigate ambiguity, and bridge the gap between technical architecture and humanโ€‘centered business strategy.
  • UX craftsperson: A high bar for design, with a demonstrated ability to transform highly complex data into simple, magical user moments.
  • Experimentation mindset: Strong data literacy with experience running A/B tests to evaluate the impact of feature and algorithmic updates or AI models.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required (STEM, computer science, or genomics is a major plus). A passion for genealogy and storytelling is a plus.
Compensation

Base salary range: $85,970 โ€“ $107,460, with eligibility for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision. Actual salary will depend on location and experience. Detailed compensation data for a specific location will be provided during the recruiting process.
