Exadata Architect
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
• 10+ years of hands on experience with Oracle Database administration.
• 5+ years of dedicated experience with Oracle Exadata engineering or architecture.
• Strong understanding of:
• RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate
• Exadata storage internals, Smart Scan, HCC
• Exadata patching and lifecycle management
• 3-5 years of practical experience with AWS cloud:
• RDS Oracle, EC2 Oracle, DMS, S3, KMS, CloudWatch, IAM
• WS networking (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway)
• Strong knowledge of Linux (OL, RHEL), Ansible/Shell scripting.
• Experience architecting HA/DR solutions across on prem and AWS.
• Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Oracle Certified Master / OCI Architect / AWS Solutions Architect certifications.
• Experience with Exadata Cloud@Customer or Exadata on OCI.
• Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience in BFSI or other highly regulated industries.
• Modernization experience (Aurora PostgreSQL, microservices, data mesh, etc.).
Roles & Responsibilities
Exadata Architecture & Engineering
• rchitect, design, deploy, and manage Oracle Exadata platforms (X8/X9/X10 generation or later).
• Lead platform sizing, capacity planning, storage configurations (Cell Servers, Compute Nodes, Infiniband/ROCE switching).
• Perform Exadata performance tuning including Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC), storage index optimization, and I/O bottleneck analysis.
• Maintain and optimize RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate replication environments.
WS Cloud Integration & Migration
• Design and implement hybrid architectures using AWS RDS Oracle, Oracle on EC2, and Exadata Cloud@Customer.
• Lead migration assessments (TCO, application dependency mapping, platform compatibility).
• Build migration roadmaps leveraging Data Pump, RMAN, GoldenGate, DMS, and other tools.
• Implement cloud native HA/DR strategies including multi AZ, cross region replication, and automated failover.
Database Performance & Optimization
• nalyze end to end performance issues across applications, network, storage, and database layers.
• Implement proactive capacity management, alerting, and performance baselining.
• Ensure adherence to Oracle best practices for Exadata patching, quarterly maintenance, and firmware upgrades.
Security, Compliance &a mp; Governance
• Define and enforce security standards including encryption, auditing, IAM, and data masking.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks-SOX, PCI, FFIEC, HIPAA, or industry specific controls.
• Collaborate with SOC, InfoSec, and cloud security teams on secure Exadata-AWS integrations.
Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Partner with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure end to end solution alignment.
• Provide architectural guidance and documentation (HLD/LLD, runbooks, resiliency diagrams).
• Lead POCs, performance benchmarking, and technology evaluation for continuous improvement.
