Job description

Position Title: DMS Switch Migration Support Engineer (FOMS)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 12 months contract, will extend
Compensation: $50 - $60 p/h, W2, no benefits
Working Hours: Normal business hours
Work Status: Must be Green Card holder or US Citizen.
Summary/Objective: Glow Networks is pleased to offer this opportunity to support our customer Ribbon Communications, as a DMS Switch Migration Support Engineer, specializing in the Bellcore Frame Operations Management System (FOMS). You will work as an integral part of our customer's Managed Services Team to plan traffic migrations to new platforms and provide technical support for legacy DMS switch migration to the C20 VoIP switch. Experience with AT&T will be helpful.
Hiring Manager Special Interest:
• The key requirement is knowledge of FOM (Frame Operations Management System) as used on the DMS Switch
• This a Remote position
• SME on DMS 100/200 Switch
• TIRKS experience will be helpful
• Plan migration from DMS and 5ESS to Ribbon C-20 VoIP switch
• Prepare input to MOPs for migration to new platforms
• Participate in the migration on cut night
• Knowledge of Ribbon C20 Switch, G5/G6 and TIRKS would be an asset
Other Functions:
• Ensure the DMS Switch traffic is ready for cutover to new platforms
• Resolve ticket escalations including calls, emails and alerts through various network monitoring and ticketing tools
• Support maintenance activities
• Perform fault isolation as needed to resolve reported switch problems
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
• Work will be performed REMOTE
• Must be available on the night of the cutover, and for two or three nights afterward
• No special strength or agility requirements
• Ability to work in Shifts and Maintenance Windows in a 24 X 7 environment
• May be asked to travel
Required Education/Experience and Competencies:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 10+ years of DMS switch translations and maintenance experience
• Solid understanding of BR 752-101-901, Bellcore Frame Operations Management System
• Knowledge of Lucent 5ESS Switch may be helpful
• SME for DMS Switch and translations including dial plan management
• Always promote and maintain a high standard of customer service
• Conduct virtual training, as needed
• Strong teamwork, good communication and documentation skills
