Job Summary:
Generation Auto Group is a family-owned and operated dealership group proudly serving communities for over 30 years. As a Level 2/3 IT Technician, you will support and maintain the technology infrastructure for dealerships across New York and New Jersey, ensuring reliable and efficient technology solutions for end users and dealership leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
• Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, and mailbox administration
• Support and maintain Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user lifecycle management, security groups, and access controls
• Configure and support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access Policies, and identity security initiatives
• Assist with Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and cloud administration projects
• Deploy, configure, maintain, and support Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices
• Manage mobile devices and endpoint policies through Microsoft Intune and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
• Support Windows Autopilot deployments and device provisioning processes
• Perform workstation installations, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, operating system, and application issues
• Troubleshoot networking issues including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, VLANs, wireless networks, and internet access
• Support dealership network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related equipment
• Assist with network upgrades, troubleshooting, and infrastructure improvement projects
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve connectivity and infrastructure issues
• Support endpoint security platforms and cybersecurity best practices
• Monitor and respond to security alerts, account issues, and identity-related incidents
• Assist with security incident response, remediation efforts, and documentation
• Manage user access requests, permissions, and security group administration
• Support email security initiatives and security awareness efforts
• Monitor and support cloud-based backup and recovery solutions
• Assist with backup validation, restoration requests, and disaster recovery testing
• Help maintain business continuity processes and technology recovery procedures
• Document backup configurations and recovery processes
• Support dealership applications, including Tekion and other dealership management systems (DMS)
• Troubleshoot software, integration, and operational issues affecting dealership departments
• Support technology needs for sales, service, parts, accounting, finance, and administrative teams
• Assist with technology rollouts, software upgrades, and dealership acquisitions
• Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues requiring advanced troubleshooting
• Automate repetitive administrative tasks using PowerShell or similar tools
• Assist with infrastructure projects, technology refreshes, system deployments, and migrations
• Coordinate with dealership leadership, vendors, and internal IT staff on projects and initiatives
• Maintain detailed documentation of systems, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and technology standards
• Travel regularly between dealership locations throughout New York and New Jersey
• Provide onsite technical support for workstations, printers, mobile devices, networking equipment, and dealership systems
• Support dealership acquisitions, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology deployments
• Assist with conference room technology, executive support requests, and special events
• Be available for occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work during projects, emergencies, or system rollouts
Qualifications:
Required:
• Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Have 3+ years of IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure experience
• Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
• Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and endpoint management solutions
• Strong understanding of Windows 10/11 deployment, configuration, and support
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless networking
• Experience supporting endpoint security, MFA, Conditional Access, and identity management
• Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, networking, and cloud-related issues independently
• Comfortable supporting both remote and onsite users across multiple locations
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Able to lift and move computer equipment, printers, and related technology assets up to 50 lbs
• Willing and able to travel regularly between dealership locations
Preferred:
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
• Automotive dealership technology experience, including Tekion or other DMS platforms
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities
