SUMMARY:The security officer protects company property and assets and provides a safe environment for customers and employees. Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with customers and employees. Maintains security podium and completes reports and logs using a shift activity log. Perform chip and credit transactions adhering to company, Tribal, State and Federal guidelines. Works closely with all Casino Departments and Management.

- High School Diploma/GED required
Preferred:
- Experience and/or formal training in law enforcement and/or gaming security fields is desired.

- Must be licensable by SWO Gaming Commission
- Must complete a 90-day probationary period
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintains Security podium as assigned and maintain complete records using a shift activity log
- Perform chip and credit transactions and money transfers, verifies amount by signature, in accordance with company, Tribal, State and Federal guidelines
- Provide security for company resources, customers, and employees in accordance with Dakota Magic and Security Department policies.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge and proficiency in casino and department procedures and policies
- Detect and correct safety and/or security hazards or issues which endanger customers, employees, or assets
- Respond to incidents, unusual occurrences and take immediate action, when appropriate, to correct the situation and/or report the incident
- Escort casino funds and direct traffic to ensure safety
- Detain suspects for public safety issues and law enforcement response
- Assist and administer medical aid
- Adheres to strict confidentiality
- To perform other functions as assigned

The team member is regularly exposed to risk of radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system.
Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke. Extensive computer use. Must handle hazardous materials. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs. Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume direct public contact.
