The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and engaging prospective customers, qualifying leads and booking meetings for our Account Executives while also owning and closing select opportunities independently. Working directly with the Customer, Sales Support, Strategic Account Manager and others, the successful candidate will have the ability to develop credibility, build trust and rapport with customers and partners, understand their needs, and facilitate a successful sales process. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a high-performance work environment with clear performance expectations and targets. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with prospects and customers, making outbound calls and emails to generate new business, and following up on leads.
  • Understanding prospects' needs and identifying sales opportunities.
  • Answering potential customers' questions and sending additional information via email.
  • Researching and qualifying new accounts across commercial, industrial, and government markets.
  • Creating and maintaining a CRM database of prospects and customers.
  • Explaining and demonstrating features of products and services.
  • Staying informed about competing products and services.
  • Upselling and cross-selling products and services.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation and close.
  • Closing sales and achieving sales targets.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent phone and cold calling skills.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong listening and sales skills.
  • Ability to achieve targets.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce.com, Zoho CRM or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an outbound call center or a related sales position preferred.
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Being physically present and available at our Monroe location.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
