Job description

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Reporting to the Sr. Product Manager, New Markets, responsible for driving growth across the Southeast territory, including Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. Focuses on expanding Apex Tool Group's presence within the electric utility and power transmission and distribution markets by developing relationships with utility companies, electric cooperatives, and contractors. Creates end user demand while partnering with distributor networks to increase sales, grow market share, and execute strategic account plans throughout the region.

The Build (Responsibilities)
  • Represent Apex Tool Group and its brands at industry events, including lineman rodeos, trade shows, and utility conferences, to promote awareness and generate qualified business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with utility companies, cooperatives, municipalities, large electrical contractors, and lineworker training centers to understand their operational needs and identify opportunities.
  • Coordinate and manage tool sampling and evaluation programs to obtain work methods approvals and recommendations within target utilities.
  • Collaborate with Apex Tool Group's distributor partners with TSM's to ensure product availability, competitive positioning, and successful sales execution.
  • Provide technical product demonstrations and training for linemen, work methods teams, and distributor sales teams.
  • Collect and communicate market intelligence, including customer feedback, competitive activity, and emerging trends within the power transmission and distribution sector.
  • Lead and develop strategies to expand business opportunities for Power T&D tools and storage solutions.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product management, and sales operations, to align business development initiatives with corporate goals.
  • Partner with TSM's and ATG Distribution network to convert opportunities into sales.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
  • BS/BA or university degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 3-5 years of progressive sales or business development experience. Experience within the Power Transmission & Distribution, Utility, or Industrial Tool markets preferred
  • Proven track record of success in relationship-based selling and managing complex, multi-stakeholder accounts
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving measurable business outcomes.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 70% to customer sites, distributor locations, and industry events.
