Job description

District Sales Manager

Are you a driven sales professional with experience in building materials and distribution channels who thrives on relationship-building, territory growth, and fast-paced customer engagement? We're looking for a District Sales Manager to support and grow our Western Oregon & Western Washington territory, helping customers succeed through our metal roofing and wall panel solutions.

This is a highly visible territory with strong brand recognition, established customer relationships, and significant opportunity to expand share of wallet and drive new business growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own & Grow Your Territory: Manage a well-established ~$3M territory while identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships and increase market share
  • Develop Customer Partnerships: Work closely with distributors, one-step dealers, and independent lumber yards to support their business needs
  • Drive Sales Growth: Balance maintaining current business with proactive prospecting and new opportunity development
  • Sell Industry-Leading Products: Represent metal roofing, wall panel systems, trims, and accessory products across residential, agricultural, and commercial markets
  • Support Product Training & Pull-Through Sales: Conduct customer education and contractor training programs while supporting contractor pull-through initiatives
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Build strong partnerships with operations, branch leadership, estimating, and customer support teams
  • Provide Responsive Customer Support: Manage a high volume of customer interactions and transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Navigate Brand Integration: Help customers transition through ongoing product and system integration initiatives following recent operational changes

Qualifications

  • 35 + years of sales experience preferred
  • Experience within building materials, metal roofing, construction products, or adjacent industries strongly preferred
  • Understanding of dealer/distribution sales channels highly preferred
  • Experience with estimating, project management, inside sales, or customer-facing construction support roles valued
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a commitment to consistent customer follow-up
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple opportunities, and work independently
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, customer-focused sales environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to meet with customers regularly throughout the territory
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Superb interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with customers
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and adapt to multiple systems and technologies

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory (up to 60%)
  • Ability to climb ladders and inspect rooftops during customer claim or project review processes
  • Occasional lifting of product samples and materials may be required
  • Combination of office, driving, customer-facing, and job site environments consistent with an outside sales role

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 - 95,000 + bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
