About the position

This role oversees branch inventory and supply planning, driving performance, managing supplier relationships, and leading a team to support overall business goals.

What you'll do:

  • Establishes, tracks and communicates branch targets related to inventory and service performance
  • Monitors level of supplier service and maintains working relationships with suppliers and their representatives
  • Assists in root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances to implement corrective/preventative action plans to avoid reoccurrence
  • Works proactively with purchasing and sales teams to monitor and reduce underperforming inventory
  • Assesses purchasing options and completes purchase approvals
  • Establishes goals and strategies for improved forecast performance for the branch and works directly with the Forecaster and Sales team to review performance and opportunities for improvement
  • Develops, mentors and trains purchasing personnel including a team of Supply Planners, Forecaster and Inventory Coordinator
  • Works closely with other department managers to meet and exceed branch goals
  • Hires, promotes, changes responsibilities of, evaluates and recommends salary increases for staff directly supervised

What you'll need:

  • University degree or specialized certification (PMAC, APICS, or related work experience)
  • Ability to analyze alternatives, use judgment and initiative in managing inventory
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experienced with ERP - MRP systems
  • Must be highly organized
  • Minimum (2) years of management experience required
