About the Job
The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. This role ensures efficient execution of distribution activities, fosters collaboration across departments, and drives operational excellence through strong leadership and team motivation.
What You'll Do | Key Accountabilities
• Lead and manage all daily distribution operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and high-quality service.
• Oversee workforce planning and allocate manpower effectively across all areas of the department.
• Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities to employees, promoting a culture of growth and accountability.
• Maintain accurate employee attendance records and address performance issues promptly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve inbound merchandise processing and shipping challenges.
• Participate in daily planning meetings with functional managers to align goals and strategies.
• Foster positive relationships with staff, management, and partners.
• Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with organizational safety standards.
• Track equipment inventory and coordinating maintenance as needed.
• Monitor and document key performance metrics to evaluate departmental efficiency.
• Support the Operations Manager in developing and executing plans to achieve departmental goals.
• Drive initiatives to reduce accidents and promote a strong safety culture.
• Lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain high employee morale through effective leadership and engagement strategies.
Work Schedule
• Standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, with flexibility required to meet business needs.
• Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or late nights.
• Hours and schedules are subject to change based on operational requirements.
Skills and Experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience managing in a distribution environment.
• High School diploma required, Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach overhead, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, stretch, crouch, and crawl.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
• Regular use of ladders and/or lift equipment.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds or more.
The starting rate for this position is $54,600 - $72,700 and may increase to $90,900 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
