What are distribution centers?

Distribution centers are specialized facilities used by companies to store products and manage the order fulfillment process before goods are shipped to retailers, wholesalers, or directly to customers. Unlike traditional warehouses, distribution centers are designed for fast movement and efficient handling of goods, often using advanced logistics and technology systems. They play a crucial role in the supply chain by helping businesses manage inventory, reduce delivery times, and meet customer demands more effectively. Distribution centers can serve a variety of industries, including retail, e-commerce, and manufacturing.
