Title: Warehouse Team Lead
Reports To: Distribution Center Manager

As a Warehouse Team Lead, your essential job functions will include the following:
Operations
  • Lead the assigned function (receiving or shipping), providing direction to associates within the function and troubleshooting issues.
  • Assist in supervising all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.
  • Aid in inventory control training and execution of cycle counts and physical inventory counts to ensure that inventory is accurate and organized.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to resolve inventory control discrepancies.
  • Prior to product storage, count all product, compare to manifest, and check all shipments. Report shortages, damages, and missed shipments to management.
  • Check contents of orders as filled and assembled. Compare quantity, quality, labeling, and address with customer's order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct.
  • Perform relocation, replenishment and consolidation of product as directed.
  • Inform management of resource allocation (staffing, equipment) issues.

Leadership and Supervision
  • Ensure a safe work environment by delivering safety training and certifications, enforcing safety procedures, and addressing safety issues.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Warehouse Manager and Distribution Center Manager on technical and professional development planning for associates and participate in implementation of those plans.
  • Utilize effective coaching, teaching, and training to develop successful team members.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Warehouse Manager and Distribution Center Manager on employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where team members are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of the Company, thereby negating the need for third party representation.
  • Assist in the execution of strategies for recognition, engagement, and teambuilding.
  • Provide input into performance assessments of each team member and recommend appropriate action such as promotions, counseling, and termination. Assist Distribution Center Manager with performance conversations.
  • Assist with coaching, counseling, and discipline to hold associates accountable for performance.
  • Provide associates with task-level direction within area of responsibility.

Administration
  • Assist with monitoring supply levels and ordering supplies.

Other Duties as Assigned
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of supply chain experience, including distribution center, inventory, and transportation.
  • Strong process improvement mindset focusing on continuous growth.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with WMS, TMS and ERP systems preferred.

Position Requirements
  • Lifting up to 90 pounds.
  • Continuous lifting, bending, twisting, and crouching.
  • Meet the requirements of Dealer Tire's Motor Vehicle Record Policy and Company Vehicle Fleet Policy.
  • Always operate the company vehicle in a safe, professional manner and wear a seat belt.
  • Wear safety equipment when required.
  • For those with a Missouri Driver's License, you must have a valid Class E license.
  • For those working in a Michigan Distribution Center, you must have a valid Chauffeur's License.
  • Must be able to speak/read English well enough to converse with the public, understand road signs, respond to official questions, make legible entries on records and reports.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and after hire, be able to pass a driver's road skills test and DOT physical.
