Job Responsibilities Responsible for overall operation of the canteen warehouse to include shipping, receiving, storing, inventory control and stock rotation. Responsible for required personnel actions. Act as purchasing agent in the procurement of all canteen merchandise and equipment to include keeping abreast of market conditions, ensuring accurate/timely delivery and affecting cost savings where possible.
Ensure security procedures are in place to prevent theft/damage of merchandise/equipment and injuries to employees/inmates. Dually supervise institutional canteen managers. Analyze and forecast requirements for canteen items of convenience.
Manage statewide vending and canteen operations including oversight of SC Commission of the Blind and private vendors. Develop five-year strategic plans, supervise audits and management reviews and respond to inmate, staff and public inquiries. Develop and oversee SCDC canteen operation policies, provide technical assistance to wardens and supervise audits and annual management reviews.
