Job description

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Production Engineer for our chemical manufacturing client. This is an in-office position located in the Beaumont / Port Arthur area with up to 10% domestic travel as necessary. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

· Base salary of $115k - $135k DOE plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits

· Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment

· Strong experience in distillation and batch processing required

· Process and project design experience required

The Production Engineer role oversees operation of distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors, acts as a technical resource for operations personnel, applies technical skills to optimize plant operations.
Role Responsibilities:

  • Leading the operation of distillation projects and/or hydrogenation reactors.
  • Understanding and working with plant utilities.
  • Working with Plant Management to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
  • Working closely with Technical Advising and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
  • Work closely with QA personnel to ensure that all product specifications are met.
  • Assist the Engineering Department in developing cost effective projects to optimize production.
  • Develop procedures for items already in production or to be produced in the future.
  • Troubleshooting plant operations when actual operations do not meet the expected results.
  • Generating reports that detail including mass balances, process data analysis and de-bottlenecking proposals.
  • Developing and maintaining specific schedules to meet production demand.
  • Ensuring projects are running efficiently by working with plant personnel, technical advisors and data analysis.
  • Actively participating with operators in the field to help identify process and HSEQ improvements.
  • Communicating technical information and issues to plant personnel at all levels within the organization, when needed
  • Lead process improvement meetings with plant personnel for the main projects.
  • Lead project planning meetings to discuss all items related to the project execution.


Requirements:

· Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment

· Strong experience in distillation and batch processing required

· Process and project design experience required

· Honeywell Experion and MS Project experience preferred

· Have or ability to obtain TWIC Card
