Director of LTL Operations

Full Time Brookneal, VA, US

Salary Range: $120,000.00 To $160,000.00 Annually

SUMMARY

The Director of LTL Operations will lead the vision and operations for Foster Fuels growing LTL (Tankwagon) division with locations in Arizona, Texas, and Northern Virginia. The position will coordinate out of the company’s corporate headquarters to ensure streamlined and effective communication across divisions. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can strategically and safely grow a successful business unit.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Mission Critical division’s day-to-day LTL operations and logistics.
  • Responsible for three P&L centers for Mission Critical divisions; driving cost control while promoting profitability and growth.
  • Monitors performance metrics and overall effectiveness of three LTL P&L divisions.
  • Oversees Mission Critical satellite offices and the direct reports associated with Arizona, Texas, and Northern Virginia.
  • Develops strategies to support the growth of the Mission Critical LTL operations across the U.S.
  • Manages staff selection, performance, and development to ensure team reaches company goals and expectations.
  • Supports cultural improvements, safety initiatives, and other programs that are employee engagement driven.
  • Maintains business relationships with key vendors and partners supporting day-to-day and emergency operations.
  • Travel is required to visit satellite branches, attend trade shows, oversee activations, and other associated responsibilities.
  • On-call for emergency requests as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High ethical standards such as integrity, trust, and the ability to build personal engagement with colleagues, direct reports, customers, and suppliers.
  • Motivated self-starter who can support growth and vision across the LTL divisions.
  • Strong understanding of the fuel industry, logistics, and safety, as well as the ability to convey that knowledge to other colleagues.

KEY CANDIDATE SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ Years experience in the fuel industry or related critical infrastructure fields
  • 2+ Years experience with leading other managers and providing coaching and support.
  • Experience managing multiple P&Ls, producing goals and KPIs, and then meeting or exceeding those metrics.
  • Class A or B CDL with X endorsement preferred.
