The University of New Haven, founded on the Yale campus in 1920, is a private, coeducational university that has been recognized by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report for academic excellence. Located between New York City and Boston in the shoreline city of West Haven, the University is a diverse and vibrant community of nearly 9,000 students from across the globe. Within its five colleges, students immerse themselves in a transformative, career-focused education across the liberal arts and sciences, fine arts, business, engineering, public safety and public service. More than 100 academic programs are offered, all grounded in a long-standing commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary, project-based learning.
The Department of Psychology is one of the largest at the University, with a large and diverse faculty and student body. Currently, there are approximately 450 undergraduate majors and 200 master's students. The psychology major consists of concentrations in forensic, clinical, general, and community and society. The graduate programs include community psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, and clinical mental health counseling (CMHC). • Hold a doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision (ABD applicants may be considered; however, degree completion must occur no later than the end of the first academic year of appointment). Degrees from CACREP-accredited programs are preferred.
  • Hold or be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut (or equivalent state licensure).

You need:
  • To be a dynamic instructor able to teach master's and undergraduate courses using in-person, hybrid, and online modalities.
  • Experience advising, mentoring, and providing clinical supervision to graduate counseling students.
  • A strong and independent program of research (research specialization is open).
  • A demonstrated commitment to serving culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse communities.

Other responsibilities include participation in faculty-mentored research, program development, student evaluation, and accreditation activities.

Qualified candidates should submit:
