For more than 25 years, Woodard & Curran has offered contract operations and management services for drinking water, municipal and industrial wastewater, groundwater remediation, and solid waste facilities nationwide. Currently we contract operate more than 85 facilities nationwide. Woodard & Curran draws on the experience of hundreds of certified operators across the country, backed by the knowledge and skills of hundreds more engineers, scientists, and regulatory experts, to quickly tackle the most challenging operational issues and keep treatment plants running efficiently and in full compliance.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are growing! Due to this growth, we have an immediate opening for a Wastewater Treatment Operator to help support several industrial wastewater treatment facilities around the United States. In this role, you will be based out of our treatment facility in Holland, MI, with the expectation that you will travel to other Midwest facilities as needed. You will perform operation and maintenance of assigned treatment, mechanical and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment. You will work with staff to evaluate maintenance and ensure Asset Management practices are consistently implemented and tracked. You will work with various software technologies and may respond to emergency calls at facilities and take the required corrective action or assist Woodard & Curran and our client personnel. In many cases, you will provide shift coverage assistance, (if properly licensed) as directed to maintain staffing compliance and/or integrity. You may also support clients with interim support and maintenance activities. Lastly, you will provide technical assistance for process control changes and troubleshooting activities. The position requires a high level of reliability, as project teams count on you to provide critical coverage and assistance. What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
  • Provide operations and maintenance support at water, wastewater and/or industrial treatment facilities.
  • Work with the Operations Leader, Area Managers and Project Managers to support project demands with coverage, routine & corrective maintenance, capital planning, process control improvements.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Supporting instrument calibrations and upgrades.
  • Utilize W&C technical platforms for data collection: Utility Cloud Hach WIMS, Do Forms, Power BI, etc.

Travel Requirements:
  • This position will be based out of our treatment facility in Holland, MI, and may support other operations primarily in the Midwest. You will be required to travel a minimum of 75% of the year.

What will you need to succeed?
  • Knowledge of the water and wastewater industry to include equipment, controls and process.
  • Willingness to travel to support assigned projects and assist with emergency event repair and recovery efforts.
  • Ability to utilize business intelligence systems including PowerBI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence systems and implementation is a plus.
  • Solid maintenance background which may include certifications and licenses is a plus.
  • Experience with utility technology software including Hach's Water Information Management System (Hach WIMS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance equipment and best practices is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Successful candidates will be expected to complete a pre-placement background check, drug screen, and physical.

$22 - $29 an hour
Pay range will vary based on experience and/or treatment certification level.
