Employment Type: Full-time | On-site Overview:
The Disposition Specialist will provide comprehensive logistics and material management support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD). This position plays a critical role in ensuring the proper disposition, accountability, and certification of government materials in accordance with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services (DLADS) and Navy requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Integrate and manage the full spectrum of logistics processes across operational, acquisition, and wholesale environments.
• Direct integrated logistics efforts, develop and implement support policies, procedures, and systems, and provide program guidance.
• Prepare and enforce directives to ensure effective logistics and material management support.
• Establish and maintain standards to ensure the assigned workforce is properly trained and equipped.
• Develop, initiate, integrate, and manage logistics actions supporting life cycle management of weapons systems, subsystems, and equipment.
• Coordinate with material custodians and DLA Disposition Services (DLADS) for proper material disposal and documentation.
• Generate DD Form 1348-1s and ensure compliance with DLA disposal and certification requirements. Required Qualifications: • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in the disposal of government materials.
• Demonstrated experience working with DLA Disposition Services (DLADS), generating DD1348-1 forms, and coordinating directly with custodians.
• Familiarity with DLA disposal certification requirements and ability to obtain certification from on-site subject matter experts.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail. Desired Qualifications: • Experience identifying and categorizing government materials.
• Working knowledge of Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Prior experience supporting Navy or DoD logistics programs. Additional Requirements: • Must possess an active Department of Defense Secret Clearance or higher.
