David J. Tabak, O.D. is a private, professional, full service optometric practice located in Barrington, Illinois. Dr. Tabak is licensed and certified by the State of Illinois to offer medical optometric services including the treatment of eye diseases, injuries to the eye, and prescription medications as well as determining refractive error for eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions.
Dr. Tabak's office offers a wide selection of eyeglass frames, sunglasses, reading glasses, and recreational eyewear and will assist you in selecting the perfect frame and lens combination to ideally suit your prescription and lifestyle needs. For contact lens wearers, Dr. Tabak will recommend and explain which lenses are right for you.
Most vision plans are accepted for routine eye care, and many major medical plans for medically related office visits.
Job Description
OPTICIAN
Full-time position. We are a professional private practice committed to providing the highest quality eye care. We are looking for an experienced optician who can work in a team setting with the ability to multi-task.
Duties would include but not be limited to:
1) Frame dispensing, repairs, adjustments and assembly
2) Eyeglasses sales and dispensing
3) Vision insurance and electronic medical records knowledge would be a plus
4) Maintain glasses frame and office supply inventory.
Salary commensurate with experience. Paid vacation and profit sharing.
Qualifications
Job Description-Dispensing Optician
3 years experience required Salary based on experience
Benefits including profit sharing and paid vacation
Knowledge of RevolutionEHR an asset
Knowledge of Visioffice an asset
โ€ข Process patient frame and lens orders; confirm lenses are correct upon receipt from lab
โ€ข Dispense completed eyeglass orders; notify patients when eyeglasses are ready
โ€ข Complete eyeglass repairs, adjustments and frame assembly.
โ€ข Process/submit insurance forms for eyeglass orders
โ€ข Enter information for Visioffice
โ€ข Enter eyeglass information into RevolutionEHR
โ€ข Process and submit AllKids/Medicaid eyeglass orders
โ€ข Maintain eyeglass frame inventory including data entry and pricing
โ€ข Meet with eyeglass frame and lens sales reps; place orders at time of meeting or as needed
โ€ข Provide monthly frame sales reports
โ€ข Keep track and order the following inventory and supplies;
1. Optical supplies including screws, nose pads, lens cleaner, etc.
2. Office supplies from Staples.com as requested by staff
3. Paper products including Kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, wipes, etc.
When needed:

โ€ข Check patients in and out
โ€ข Answer phones
โ€ข Schedule appointments
โ€ข Cover and cap equipment
โ€ข Keep desk area and optical works areas clean, tidy, and organized
