The compensation target for this role is: $24.00 - $28.00

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable delivery driver - for Yard/Shuttle/Delivery/Dispatch. Individual needs to have at least two years dispatch/yard control, driving and shuttling experience. The driver will fill in for Dispatch as needed to support the traffic of all shipping and receiving loads as needed for incoming and outgoing shipments to/from Purple locations, and its depots and warehouses.Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Fill in for Dispatch as needed.

  • Fully understands all aspects of Yard Management and maintaining all logs and records of inbound-outbound carriers.

  • May interact with local customers, answer questions, and advise them of our products.

  • Confirm contents of each shipment matches manifest document.

  • Ensures assigned vehicle is clean.

  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)

  • Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.

  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.

  • Perform Yard Checks, prepare and distribute related reporting and daily emails.

  • Adhere to company rules and regulations.

  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance with the weather and road conditions.

  • Comply with FMCSA and DOT rules and regulations.

  • Always makes safety a priority.

Driver - Yard/Shuttling Qualifications

  • CDL-A Driver's License

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in yard spotting, repositioning of equipment (trailers/containers)

  • Minimum of 1-year of tractor/trailer driving required.

  • Clean driving record with no moving violations

  • Must pass background check and drug test.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Proficient using YMS, two-way radio, I-Pad and other TMS Systems

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Good verbal and written communication

Driver - Yard/Shuttle Qualifications

  • Document all incoming and outgoing trailers/containers, coordinate driver schedules, movements of trailers/containers to specific doors for loading/unloading.

  • Be flexible to work some weekends or support drivers on yard moves as needed

  • Properly maintain all logs and records of inbound-outbound carriers

  • Monitor the trafficking process for all equipment that enters or leaves the yard.

  • Check all trailers/containers prior to transferring to designated warehouse/yard locations.

  • Ensure timely and accurate appointment booking of inbound/outbound deliveries.

  • Propose process improvements of yard management and workflow.

  • Manage resources allocation around bottlenecks and evolving scheduling demands.

  • Work closely with Purple Drivers and the Transportation/Logistics teams.

  • Ensure receipt of daily and weekly order schedules.

  • Print necessary tickets supporting documentation needed for daily scheduled shipping, receiving and yard drop/hook moves.

  • Ensure carrier bookings and scheduling control processes and procedures are followed correctly.

  • This position will also require assistance on non-driving days to the Home Delivery Team when they require a 3rdperson. You will assist in moving a mattress as a team into a customer's residence.

Required Skills, Education & Experience:

  • 2+ yrs. of Yard/Shuttling/Dispatch, of inbound/outbound Load management.

  • An initiative-taking and meticulous individual with initiative-taking communication style with all teams.

  • Strong organizational skills in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment.

  • TMS system, scheduling, and carrier booking/appoint management.

  • Ability to manage appointment schedule changes quickly and notify all parties involved.

  • Solid computer skills with email and spreadsheets.

Work Hours (Good Faith Estimate):

This full-time position is expected to work approximately 30-40 hours per week. This is a good faith estimate, and actual hours may vary based on business needs.
