Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Dispatch Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of the distribution of equipment and personnel to meet project needs and maintain availability levels. This role the primary support position for the Operations Manager for all duties related to personnel management and assignments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for direct supervision of Drivers or Technicians, including staffing, development of employees through training, corrective actions, planning work, performance improvement plans, feedback, performance review, OSHA, DOT and company policy enforcement and termination decisions.
  • Dispatches personnel and equipment to meet the project needs.
  • Provides guidance and solutions to Field Supervisors, Technicians and/or Drivers on a variety of project related questions or problems.
  • Works in tandem with the Operations Manager to ensure customer satisfaction on field projects.
  • Coordinate and manage the distribution of equipment & personnel to meet project needs and maintain availability levels.
  • Establishes priority schedule to complete assigned tasks.
  • Keeps records and logbooks, monitor drivers' daily logs and working hours and keep up with scheduled equipment maintenance.
  • Immediately reports injuries & incidents to appropriate parties, assisting with the enforcement of safety practices & policies.
  • Works with operations, accounting and payroll departments to assist with the review & processing of project paperwork & verification of employee payroll.
  • Tracks & fills requests made by clients, as well as internal departments and/or other offices.
  • Maintains security of equipment in the yard and work with other members of management & supervisory teams to avoid the misuse or abuse of company equipment.
  • Occasionally visits job sites and customers to evaluate project progress and performance.
  • Manages tool room, warehouse, and yard.
  • Manages inventory and restocking of personal protective equipment and other miscellaneous consumables.
  • May assist Health & Safety to ensure drivers are DOT compliant, including the maintenance of Driver Qualification files.
  • Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER and current 8-Hour Refresher
  • Confined Space Entry, Rescue and First Aid, CPR training preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in a dispatcher role.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience writing SOPs and JHAs.

Pay Range: $31.18 - $33.76 hourly
