Position Purpose/Summary

The Dispatch & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing branch-level dispatch and administrative operations to ensure efficient, consistent, and high-quality service delivery. This role provides leadership, training, and performance management for Branch Dispatchers and Branch Administrative Assistants while supporting Branch Managers in achieving operational goals.

This position focuses on driving routing efficiency, service completion, compliance, and customer satisfaction through standardized processes, real-time oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily branch dispatch operations to ensure efficient routing, scheduling, and service completion.
  • Monitor route performance, service metrics, and workload distribution to maximize productivity and minimize service disruptions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all scheduled services, including additional service requests, deliveries, and pickups.
  • Utilize company systems (including Tower) to monitor operations, optimize routing, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Directly supervise Branch Dispatchers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development to improve performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address performance concerns through corrective action when necessary.
  • Establish clear expectations for communication, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce standardized dispatch and administrative procedures across all assigned branches.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor documentation practices including haul/dump manifests, routing records, and service documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as a liaison between Branch Managers, field staff, customer service, billing, and operations leadership.
  • Ensure effective communication of service details, route changes, and operational priorities to field technicians.
  • Escalate critical issues including customer dissatisfaction, service failures, or staffing challenges to appropriate leadership.
  • Oversee handling of customer complaints and service issues, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
  • Support dispatch team with escalated customer concerns and complex service situations.
  • Promote a customer-focused culture across dispatch and administrative teams.
  • Partner with Branch Managers to identify staffing needs, resource allocation, and operational improvements.
  • Analyze operational data and provide recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
  • Support implementation of new systems, tools, and process improvements.
  • Assist in developing team skills and cross-functional knowledge within dispatch and administrative staff.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with operations, sales, and customer service teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Proficiencies
  • Minimum 5 years of dispatch or logistics experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and dispatch/routing systems.
  • Experience with logistics software (Tower or similar systems) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of routing, scheduling, and field service operations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Non-Commercial California Class C Driver’s License and vehicle insurance at no less than California State minimum required limits of liability.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This position requires employees to travel regularly to off-site work locations and as such use of a vehicle will be provided.

Pay Range

$60,000 – $70,000 annually.
