We're looking for a highly organized, customer-focused Dispatcher who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates confidently, and enjoys solving problems.


WHAT YOU'LL DO


As a Dispatcher, you'll serve as the central point of communication between drivers, school staff, parents, and internal teams. Every day is different, and you'll play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient transportation operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer phone calls, emails, texts, and two-way radio communications.
  • Provide excellent customer service to parents, schools, drivers, and staff.
  • Assist drivers and paraprofessionals with routing questions and daily support.
  • Assign drivers and substitute drivers to routes.
  • Prepare route paperwork, spare bus assignments, and driver signage.
  • Monitor route performance and make sure routes stay on schedule.
  • Update route changes and communicate schedule adjustments.
  • Maintain dispatch logs and required documentation.
  • Support daily driver check-in and check-out.
  • Coordinate with the technology team regarding tablets and equipment.
  • Assist with fleet readiness and preparation for inspections and special events.
  • Maintain inventory and order office supplies.
  • Help keep dispatch and shared workspaces clean and organized.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for the transportation facility.
  • Take ownership of problems and work proactively to find solutions.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Previous dispatching experience preferred (school transportation experience is a plus).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid CDL with Passenger & School Bus endorsements preferred.
  • Clean background check, compliant motor vehicle record (MVR), and ability to meet company hiring requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn transportation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to compose professional emails and communicate effectively with drivers, schools, parents, and staff.

Compensation


  • Pay Range: based on experience
    • $29-$33 with CDL
    • $22 with no CDL
  • Job Type: Full-time or part-time options available
