Job description

Warehouse & Delivery Associates at O'Brien Interiors Group play a critical role in the successful execution of construction and senior living projects by ensuring the seamless flow of materials and maintaining the integrity of our field operations. You will be responsible for the accurate receipt, staging, kitting, and "white-glove" delivery of goods to support efficient project execution. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can transition smoothly between organized warehouse management and professional field delivery in various environmental conditions.
Responsibilities:
  • Warehouse Operations: Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage; verify quantities against freight logs; and maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant workspace using professional racking systems.
  • Material Kitting & Prep: Build project-specific kits based on Bills of Materials (BOMs); pre-stage hardware and finish materials by unit or floor to improve field efficiency; and identify inventory shortages before dispatch.
  • White-Glove Delivery: Safely load and unload 26' box trucks and transit vans; ensure materials are delivered damage-free to specific in-unit locations; and protect finished surfaces within occupied environments.
  • Equipment & Safety: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment; conduct daily inspections; and adhere to all load securement standards and company safety protocols.
  • Field Support: Coordinate professionally with property managers and superintendents; collect POD documentation; and work effectively in field settings to meet strict project deadlines.
  • Technical Execution: Support tool crib and PPE tracking; identify and use common shop tools; and provide manual labor support for "all other duties as assigned" to ensure project success.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate professionally with project teams, work cooperatively in a team environment, and maintain positive working relationships with all field and warehouse staff.

Qualifications & Abilities:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid State of Michigan driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have strong general mechanical skills.
  • Ability to perform very heavy work-routinely lifts 25-75 lbs., occasionally lift 76 lbs. to greater than 100 lbs.
  • Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motion also required.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work overtime, if necessary.
  • Must be able to learn, recall, and apply work procedures and rules relevant to job functions.
  • Must be able to anticipate, evaluate, and consider the consequences of various actions when required to make on-the-job decisions without benefit of supervision.
  • Work environment may include adverse weather, loud conditions, and high levels of activity in a field setting.
