Stoneway Concrete, a division of Merlino Construction is seeking a Dispatcher for our facility in Seattle.
Location: 9216 8th Ave S, Seattle, WA98108
Position Type: Full time
Position Hours: Hours will vary
Position Summary
  • Order taker is priority work plus light dispatching
  • Communicate information and interact with drivers verbally via radio
  • Develop a working knowledge of concrete and its various applications
  • Learn and remember mix designs and product codes
  • Answer phone calls and input orders accurately
  • Read, understand and use demand graphs to schedule drivers and future work
  • Clearly and accurately relay jobsite directions and order information to drivers and QC technicians
  • Keep records and report driver injuries and accidents to appropriate parties
  • Work with sales and technical services to provide excellent customer service and meet customer needs
  • Work in coordination with batch plant operator and shop to keep entire operation of mixer truck deliveries running smoothly

Requirements/ Qualifications
  • Prior experience with logistics, concrete construction and or trucking
  • Reliable means of transportation to arrive at work on time
  • Computer and data entry skills
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay on task in a fast paced and distracting environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with co-workers and customers
  • Ability to stay calm during high stress situations
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve quickly in real time situations

Preferred:
  • Experience with high call volume - up to 100 calls per day
  • Ready Mix Dispatch Experience
  • Concrete and or construction experience
  • Strong retention of Mix design codes, product codes and customer names.
