Job Description:

This individual will work closely with Disney's Ad Sales Revenue and Yield Management Sports team, ESPN Content Finance and ESPN Research team to lead the organization, preparation and consolidation of forecasts, annual/long range plans and quarter close for the ESPN Ratings Based Ad Sales line of business. They will oversee recurring deliverables including Ad Sales Pacing, Rate/Volume analysis metric drivers, and Forecast/Plan modeling. They will also lead and/or support ad hoc projects and initiatives including the development, implementation, and maintenance of the EPM as a core function.

The role will require the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with stakeholders across the company and lead a Sr. Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will be able to easily navigate and clearly communicate between the Ad Sales organization and the Finance organization. The individual must be an excellent communicator and be comfortable presenting to senior leadership. A strong analytical and systems reporting background is necessary as the role relies heavily on a key understanding and working knowledge of the department's sales reporting systems and general ledger systems.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Oversee quarter end reporting, forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans, including financial modeling and variance analysis for all components of Ratings Based Sports Ad Sales Revenue

  • Manage the forecast process by creating timelines, crafting deliverable requirements, and working with partners on key assumptions

  • Oversee preparation of key deliverables including weekly pacing reports that provide senior management with a snapshot of Ad Sales for various ESPN media groups

  • Build effective partnerships with finance, controllership, and other teams across the organization

  • Leverage existing and contribute to new technologies to enhance forecasting processes and reporting to drive efficiency and accuracy

  • Provide insight through analysis and observation of any risks or opportunities to the businesses over the course of the year.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a corporate finance / business analytics role

  • Advanced Excel abilities (Nested statements, pivot tables, charting, combining functions like Index, Match, Offset and Indirect)

  • Demonstrated experience working closely with information systems and/or strong ability to quickly learn new information systems

  • Experience with Business Intelligence products, i.e. Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy (Visual dashboarding a plus)

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to transition seamlessly from explaining micro details to communicating how they impact the big picture

  • Acute attention to detail and aptitude for troubleshooting data discrepancies

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science or Finance

  • MBA preferred

The hiring range for this position in CT is $126,800.00-$154,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
