About the Role & Team

The Corporate Development group at The Walt Disney Company is a team of approximately ten professionals with backgrounds in media & technology, investment banking, private equity, and consulting, who serve as in-house advisors to the company’s executive leadership on key inorganic growth opportunities globally and who negotiate and execute M&A transactions.  The department’s activities and accomplishments have contributed to the growth and success of many of the company’s business units across the Disney Entertainment, Sports, and Disney Experiences segments.

Examples of work completed include:

  • Acquisitions: NFL Network, 21st Century Fox, Hulu, BAMTech, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar
  • Joint Ventures: Merger of Star India with Viacom18, combination of Hulu + Live TV and Fubo
  • Divestitures: Fox’s 22 Regional Sports Networks, Endemol Shine, FoxNext Games
  • Investments: Minority stakes in, Epic Games, Professional Lacrosse League, WEBTOON

What You Will Do

As the manager you will play a key role in evaluating and executing acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, and developing new business opportunities.

The position entails extensive interaction with business unit and corporate senior management and provides early project leadership responsibility. Managers develop excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills while building a rich base of knowledge within the media and entertainment industry from a ‘principal’ perspective. Managers gain exposure to the executive decision-making process and have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of The Walt Disney Company.

  • Excellent record of academic and professional achievement
  • Strong accounting, finance, modeling, valuation, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • A team-oriented attitude and an enthusiasm for mentoring junior team members
  • A passion for both business and media & entertainment

Required Education

  • MBA

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience at a top tier investment bank, private equity, or comparable corporate development group within a major media and entertainment company

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $139,200.00 to $186,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
