Overview

The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is looking for a Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our outstanding program in Orlando, Florida.

Responsibilities of the new physician will include: high volume outpatient clinics with a wide variety of patients from age 0 – 18, outreach clinics (currently providing care in four locations) and inpatient coverage in equal rotation with other group members. It is also possible to develop a subspecialty niche depending on physician’s interest. The Pediatric Endocrinology program has a dedicated area for hormone testing and we offer the full spectrum of dynamic hormonal testing and infusions. We have a large diabetes program with staffing for five nurse CDEs and a dietitian CDE. We also have two social workers, and a growth hormone coordinator.

Working with an expanding and committed children’s hospital, an established and successful pediatric endocrinology group of four other physicians and four ARNP’S with a strong referral base, a pediatric residency program, strong hospitalist, NICU ,and ICU services, a family-centered practice atmosphere, the ability to build and shape a program, and a competitive benefits / compensation package are just a few of the many reasons why this is an excellent career opportunity to consider.

Hospital Description

Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 270 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 peds ICU beds with a dedicated peds CICU, a 120 bed NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our pediatric head and neck, thyroid cancer program, level IV Epilepsy program, the region’s only BMT and solid organ transplants including kidney and liver. Our unparalleled network consists of 35 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center totals over 25,000 births and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics. These 35 hospitals refer patients for tertiary and quaternary services to our main location near downtown Orlando. Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida. In 2019 through 2022-2025, AdventHealth for Children is recognized by US News and World Report as the best Children’s Hospital for newborn care in Florida and best pediatric endocrine program by News week. There are multiple opportunities for both clinical and translational research within our program. We consistently publish our work in high impact, peer reviewed journals. AdventHealth for children offers a healthy kids obesity program and center of excellence in Adolescent bariatric care. We are also recognized by The Leapfrog Group as a top Children’s Hospital for quality and safety, and we are a magnet designated hospital for nursing.

We are in an outpatient center close to the campus of AdventHealth for Children, conveniently located close to many gorgeous homes, downtown urban living, shopping and great schools. Orlando has world-class attractions including Universal Studios, Walt Disney World and numerous public beach access. Orlando is home to major league soccer (Orlando City Lions) and NBA basketball team (Orlando Magic) as well as UCF college sports. The city also has many public and private universities and colleges. The Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts hosts variety of musical and theatrical performances throughout the year. Orlando has many national and international airlines serving various US, South American, Dubai, and European cities with direct flights. Finally, the greater Orlando area has about three million residents in the surrounding three county region and is one of the fastest growing areas in the South.
