Essential Job Functions: 

  • Monitor Guests in recreational areas and provide constant surveillance of pool areas to ensure Guest safety.
  • Open and close the pool facility daily in accordance with scheduled operating hours and established procedures.
  • Monitor all pool activities to ensure guest safety and compliance with pool rules and regulations.
  • Identify and respond promptly to safety hazards, emergencies, and unsafe behaviors within the pool area.
  • Clear the pool and surrounding areas during dangerous weather conditions or other safety-related situations.
  • Monitor weather conditions and reports to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.
  • Perform daily inspections of the pool, deck, slide, and surrounding areas to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool environment at all times.
  • Provide professional lifeguard services while consistently adhering to all pool safety standards and emergency procedures.
  • Support and assist fellow lifeguards in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for guests.
  • Organize, oversee, and support pool events and activities, including pool parties and special functions.
  • Maintain all required certifications, licenses, and training necessary to comply with Lifeguard Certification Program requirements.
  • Complete incident reports and communicate safety concerns to management as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Hotel Specific:

  • Working both indoors and outdoors. Outside in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Work in multiple outlets across the properties.

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 10 lbs
  • Primarily standing for majority of shift

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent

 Experience:  

  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of prior lifeguard experience preferred.
  • Physical role requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and kneeling
  • CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certified required.
