About the Role & Program

Disney Entertainment Television's Production Innovation team supports the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies across production, post-production, and creative workflows. Partnering with creative, production, and technology teams, the group evaluates new tools and technologies and helps bring scalable solutions into real-world production environments across DET.

As a Production Innovation Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting Innovation Lab activities, internal projects, and cross-functional initiatives. This is a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you will be exposed to how new technologies are tested, demonstrated, and integrated across a major media organization.

This is a full-time internship based in Burbank, CA from approximately August/September 2026 through January 2027.

What You Will Do

On any given day, you may:

  • Assist with Innovation Lab tours, demonstrations, and team events, including coordinating logistics, preparing materials, and supporting participant experience

  • Support team trackers, databases, and documentation used to monitor initiatives, pilots, and ongoing workstreams

  • Help prepare presentation materials, research summaries, and internal communications for creative, production, and technology stakeholders

  • Conduct research on emerging production technologies, tools, and industry trends to support evaluation and experimentation

  • Provide general team support, including maintaining internal resources and assisting with workspace and operational needs

  • Participate in team meetings, capturing notes and helping track follow-ups and next steps across projects

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Proficiency with standard productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.)

  • Interest in television production, media, and emerging technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant coursework or project experience in media, production, technology, or communications

  • Familiarity with project trackers, databases, or collaboration tools (e.g., Airtable, SharePoint)

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools, creative software, or emerging media technologies

  • Curiosity about how new technologies are evaluated and applied within the entertainment industry

Education

  • Junior or Senior standing preferred

  • Major or coursework in Film/Television, Media Studies, Communications, Technology, or a related field preferred

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, approximately 40 hours per week

  • This role is based on-site in Burbank, CA

  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Burbank, CA area

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.50 per hour.
