Job description

GFT is seeking a Bridge Discipline Leader to build and lead a bridge practice in our Denver, CO office. The Discipline Leader provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple Groups and ensures alignment of project execution with organizational goals and leads business development initiatives to support growth and profitability.
The Discipline Leader is responsible for resource planning, financial performance, client relationship management, and quality assurance across all assigned Teams. This position serves as a key liaison between area leadership and project delivery teams, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans.
In the capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Build, lead and manage multiple Teams and their respective leaders, ensuring consistent execution of projects and services.
  • Align organizational goals with project delivery strategies, resource allocation, and client expectations.
  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria and researches large or complex project elements.
  • May act in the capacity of Project Manager and have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating large or complex project assignments.
  • Acts as technical specialist in the development of multiple discipline proposals
  • Provides QA/QC reviews.
  • Supervises a staff of technical professionals and other technical specialists.
  • Mentor, develop, and build staff, fostering growth in technical and project management capabilities.
  • Responsible for working closely with clients for client satisfaction as well as business development purposes.

What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil Engineering preferred) from an accredited university, or 15+ years of experience with freight facility & industry developments.
  • Colorado P.E. Required.
  • Proven expertise in highway bridge design and construction project delivery.
  • Extensive experience with CDOT and Local Public Agencies in Colorado.
  • Prior supervision of staff and desire to build and grow a team.
  • Experience with MicroStation/Bentley ORD, and related software is an asset.
  • Strong skills in preparing technical reports, design summaries, and documentation to support project deliverables and stakeholder communications.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 to effectively plan, execute, and monitor project progress.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver results.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $240,000 - $265,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
